The Art of Spinning
Friday, May 7, 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.
Learn to spin single threads and ply them together. You will also learn about drafting, twisting and tension. Every student will spin at least one skein of yarn. 
Ages: 14-adult. Fee: $34/$41 non-resident

Traditional Rug Hooking
Saturday, May 8, 1:00-4:00 P.M.
Rug hooking uses a hand hook, similar in shape to a crochet hook, to form a looped pile from yarn on an even-weave base fabric. The wool can be hooked in such a way that the results are akin to oil painting. Let us introduce you to this American fiber art.
Ages: 6-adult. Fee: $39/47 non resident.


Introduction to Needle Felting

Needle felting is an easy-to-learn process that takes a lump of wool fiber and turns it into a piece of felt that can be used to make a multitude of projects. You will create your choice of a decorative farm animal or floral pin.

Felt Hats: Fedoras to Floppy Brims
Friday, May 7, 1:00 -4:00 P.M.
Create your own felt hat in a style that is just right for you using only a foam hat form, barbed needles and wool. We'll use both wet and dry felting methods. Many style options are possible, . choose the one that suits you and leave the class wearing your brand new hat!
