Over the years we’ve tried to keep a very simple pricing system. 
I can’t imagine the time it would take, and the hassle,
to keep track of each and every process a batch of fiber goes through. 
A simple pricing set-up is also easier for customers to figure out
and know exactly how much the processing is going to cost. 
We have no hidden costs! 
It would be frustrating trying to estimate what costs would be if half of the expenses were
 decided by a mill’s owner once they looked at the fiber.  Here, all the costs are based
on what level of preparedness your fiber comes to us with. 
Don’t panic there are only three simple levels, un-prepped, prepped but unwashed, prepped and washed.

 

Now this is something to take note of:
We are now assuming you have prepped your fleeces before getting them to us.
We will just be opening bags and washing them WITHOUT skirting or monkey grooming them first. 
You’ll be getting back most of the VM you sent us. 
This is a change for us. 
We used to prep fiber as a standard practice without charging the customer. 
We had to discontinue this method because it was giving more life to the monster. 
Over the years the fiber we receive has become lower and lower in quality. 
We will still prep if you want us to, but you will have to indicate this in your letter.  
Otherwise it’s gonna be a dump and wash, VM and all.

at a lower price, with a faster turn around time!

The prices for processing are:

 

Prepped, but unwashed fiber- $7.50 a pound, incoming weight

 

Prepped and washed fiber- $6.00 a pound, incoming weight

 

If you want us to prep for you?

      Un-prepped fiber-$10.00 a pound, incoming weight

 

Shipping and handling depends on your mailing Zone compared to ours.

 

These prices include all the processes the fiber needs to get it into the finished stage.

So that you can see the savings you’ll get with prepping yourself, here is a comparison of costs.

 

10 pounds of unprepped fiber that you want us to prep  for you……..$100.00

 

Now if you prep the fiber and pull out the VM, manure and

grease tags, your 10 pounds weighs quite a bit less. 

Let’s say it will now be 7 pounds, incoming weight……………………$52.50

 

If you wash this prepped fiber you can loose up to half the

weight in just removing the lanolin.  Now your initial 10 pounds

weighs about 3 ½ pounds  and your final price is ………………………………………………$21.00

 

The cost of processing is now less than a quarter of what it would have been if we did the prepping for you!!!

 

The other great benefit of prepping and washing is that
if you mark on the outside of your box you’ve done this,
(in big letters - write PREPPED AND WASHED!)
you'll get checked in and processed a heck of a lot sooner! 
You’ve totally bypassed the bottle-necked mess at the prepping stage as well. 
This can make a difference of several months in turn around time.

*** Patron's Special for Fall***
 
Now this is a very special discount!  Since winter is typically the slow time of the year for processing, we started offering this discount to various regular customers.  Over the years we've found that this is great for everyone, us and Patrons.
 
So the way this works is .........starting October through the end of November, you can send in a deposit towards future processing and get a $1.00 (one dollar) off a pound until your deposit is used up.  It doesn't matter when you actually have fiber to process again. There is no deadline on when you utilize the deposit. Some people don't shear their sheep until mid-spring, doesn't matter.  Your deposit on processing has no deadline for it's use.
 
The reason this is only offered to Patrons is because we're not a savings account...LOL.  Because this deposit is for  Processing Discounts in the future, an early withdrawal has a 50% penalty on the balance of the total credit.
 
If you do what you consider large amounts of processing or you are a vendor this is really the ultimate deal!!  It increases your profit margins, and, it helps to make the processing costs more affordable. Again this offer is only offered to patrons who have used us for processing in the past.
 
Consider it this way.......You saw the possible savings above that you can have by simply applying some of the labor yourself.  Well, if you wash your own fiber and send it in, your processing would only be $5.00 a pound!!!  Now that's a decent price and as low as we go!

On orders over $100 we need to have  a 50% down payment.
